Are there any rock climbing places that give lessons anywhere in minnesota.

Do the rock climbing instructors start you off really slowly and teach you the basics then work up from there.

How long will it take an average person to learn how to climb a Mountain?

If you take lessons in a group, may the instructors take you on an excursion Mountain climbing for a final thing?

thanks for your answrs

Generally you start with basics , like knots and names of equipment and then move out to easier climbs. It’s definitely a walk before you run thing. Depending on who you go with and the time of year, it very likely will all take place outside (although you can do it in a gym) You usually get started rock climbing with a top rope setup, meaning the rope used to catch you in the even of a fall is anchored above you, which is the safest. How long it will take you to climb a mountain depends largely on you, how often you do it, and what mountain you want to climb. There is a difference between rock climbing and alpine mountain climbing. For mountain climbing you’ll probably want to get some instruction in mountaineering and mountain travel, as there is additional equipment and expertise’s above and beyond rock climbing.

For climbing gyms in MN, look here: http://www.indoorclimbing.com/minnesota.html. They will be able to get you started, and refer you to outdoor guides if they don’t offer it themselves.
