I’m converting a bike to a single speed but I’m having some trouble, I have everything on it and the chainline is as straight as I can get it but whenever I climb or pedal hard out of the saddle the chain jumps around and gets all jerky. Any idea what’s going on here?
I have decided to keep an IRC trailbear 2.5 up front and have it narrowed down to a few choices for the rear.I plan to go smaller and stay in the 2.25-2.35 range for the rear. I have had Kenda Nevegal 2.35′s in the past, but thinking I could get something with the same great gripping, but lighter and faster for the rear. Interested in hearing from fellow bikers regarding their favorite tires. I will be riding over roots wet and dry, loose and packed sand and will be climbing some moderate rocky slopes in FL. thanks in advance
i have an XC bike right now with only 4″ of travel all around. i am getting into bigger jumps and drops now and 4″ is not enough. im bottoming out on 4ft drops.
i was looking for a frame with at least 6″ of travel. i will be building it up probably with a maverick duc32 fork (or a comparable dual crown fork) and full XT kit.
i want something that is fairly lightweight and has an air shock, im not a heavy guy (160lbs fully loaded) and want something that is still fairly light for climbing. i would like to keep the total weight of the bike to less than 30lbs.
i also want to build this bike for less than $1800, i’ll be buying mostly used off ebay
what frames do you recommend?
most new road bikes by cannodale, etc are doubles, wondering, if i need sustained climb, wouldn’t a triple come in handy.. saved the smart as.. comments, i know i don’t need the
triple on most climbs back east, but haven’t ridden 5-6 days at
10000 ft, etc.. looking for someone who has.. gonna by a new
carbon bike..
thanks
I’m looking for a mountain bike I can take both on road and really hammer it off road. Also, great suspension and ability to climb steep hills. Any recommendations folks???
Here’s my situation, I’m 16 and I’m looking into buying a new bike. My last bike was a full suspension bike but wasn’t a “real” mountain bike. I bent the first gear trying to actually climb a hill so I’m guessing a real mountain bike might help me do what I really want to do. I’d like to keep the price around 500$ or lower. Any suggestions on what brand or things to look for when buying one will help.
I’m looking a Cannondale CAAD5 and having trouble figuring out if this is actually road bike? Whenever I google it, it comes up under mountain bike websites. I want a bike for triathlons. This appears to be for trail and mountain climbing? Is that correct? I’m thinking this bike is not for me.
